Food Processing Dust Control

Prevent explosions with ATEX rated extraction 

Many consumable dusts, such as; flour and other whole grains, custard powder, instant coffee, sugar, dried milk, potato powder and soup powder, have the potential to explode in the correct environment.

When dust clouds are not controlled and exposed to an ignition source, explosions can be fatal. Dust must be controlled at the source to ensure your business complies with Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) to protect your employees from explosions. Maintaining Dust Control

All dust extraction equipment used to control the dust must be maintained to ensure the system effectively reduces dust at the source and protects employees from inhalation and exposure. The LEV system needs to be examined and tested at least once every 14 months as per HSE guidance (HSG258). LEV records must be kept for at least 5 years.
